J'ai découvert l'Asie par la Thaïlande et ce fut un grand choc. J'étais encore jeune, plein de certitudes qu'une autre culture et d'autres coutumes sont venus bousculées. Je suis rentré en me disant "mais qui a raison ?" La philosophie bouddhiste avait fait son entrée…

La Thaïlande est sans doute le pays où je suis allé le plus souvent. Sa position géographique centrale en Asie fait que l'on transite souvent par Bangkok pour se rendre dans les pays avoisinants où il n'y a pas de vol direct (Cambodge, Laos, …).

Loin des lieux toursitiques, j'ai eu la chance de découvrir le pays par l'intérieur, avec des proches, de me rendre dans les régions les plus reculées, sur des îles où il faut une autorisation, de dormir dans des demeures princières, … bref c'est un pays que je connais bien et où j'ai mes habitudes, un pays merveilleux, loin des clichés par lesquels on a tendance à l'enfermer…

Thailand is probably the country where I went more often. Iits central geographical position in Asia that is often channeled through Bangkok to visit neighboring countries where there is no direct flight (Cambodia , Laos, ... ) .
Away from the tourist places , I had the chance to discover the country from the inside, with relatives, to travel to the most remote areas, on islands where a permit is required , sleeping in princely mansions , short ... this is a country I know well and where I have my ways , a wonderful country , far from the stereotypes by which we tend to confine ...
